Two worlds collide as London’s D-Malice and Johannesburg’s Kid Fonque team up as rkls and the duo makes a grand entrance with ‘Hours Go By’, their debut single on R2.

Warm and earthy yet clever and fresh, the rkls sound gives a nod to a shared obsession with golden era hip-hop, 90s R’n B and soul, however, the pair distinguish themselves by lifting the curtain on interstellar new voices like Sio – whose captivating vocals shimmer on this tightly arranged delight.

Two remixes take the track in very diverse directions – accomplished Swiss beat master Chief stirs in some dreamy Jazz while rapidly rising South African duo Jay Em weave in a 4/4 groove and filtered chords to make it floor-ready.
