SLF – Tunnel Vision E.P.

SLF, otherwise known as Stephane Lefrancois started his musical career in the early 90’s playing drums for various ensembles in Paris, his home city. Since moving to London, via Canada, he has released music on various labels including Compost, !K7 and BBE, and runs his own Secret Music imprint.

The “Tunnel Vision EP” contains four tracks that typify Stephane’s fascination with dense, evolving synth textures and effects units.

Maze Runner is an electronic exploration of dreamy, tortured textures weaving through multi-layered and complex percussion. Going Down is a deep tech burner, slowly building on a persistent and wonderfully moody groove that lends itself to repeated listening as new details and ear candy creep out. Tunnel Vision is a subterranean journey through the deepest sonic tunnels. Hypnotic and infectious the deeper you delve. Sideways sees SLF flex his electronic house side with this driving almost afro-tinged groove.

Karizma – Beats & Bobs Vol. FR33

The third installment of Karizma’s “Beats & Bobs” series of raw beats and basement edits continues with a special free edition!!!

Beats & Bobs Vol. FR33 is a gift to his fans and supporters on his birthday and contains 3 more heavy hitters to keep any dance floor shaking.

“Kno Honey” is a straight up pulsating electronic exploration of nasty groove, weaving layers of sonics through the clicks, booms and snaps of a signature Karizma beat.

“La La Break” takes a familiar melodious vocal refrain and laces it with a teasing rugged percussive thump – the sweet and the hot in perfect balance.

Finally, “The Jerk” sees Karizma return to soulful jazzy club stomper territory with this devastating Hammond work-out over the customary irresistible Karizma house groove.

Sy Sez feat. Phoenix Pearle “Send Me High”

R2D5

Sy Sez has been steadily building his reputation as a DJ, producer and radio presenter on the soul and house scene for the last few years.

“Send Me High” sees Sy step back from the four to the floor house style to provide a delicious mid-tempo soul burner featuring Phoenix Pearle on vocals and hotly tipped newcomer Henry Wu on keys. The result is modern UK soul at it’s best.

Sy’s Dub strips away the vocal and let’s Henry loose on the keys for the full dubbed out London vibe.

If that wasn’t enough, Karizma slips into his Kaytronik mode on the Hydro Mix to provide a full electronic workout, complete with signature rugged beats and funked-up groove that will burn a hole in any dance-floor. The Hydromental Mix is also included for those that want to keep riding that groove.

Finally, we also include the Original Demo mix – highlighting the song’s original dub-soul-house feeling to complete the package.

Available from 13th October 2014 on all good digital platforms.

M.U.D. aka MAKES US DANCE

M.U.D is a new monthly night, formed by a new collective with old values. Not to say we don’t believe in new music, we just don’t think it needs labeling so much.

We remember a time before dance music was segregated. When specialist dance music stores displayed Jamie Principle next to Eric B & Rakim. When the most important factor was the quality, not the genre.

The key is in the title – Makes Us Dance. It unlocks our passion for music and allows us to throw inhibition to the wall and get down & dirty.

The musical stylings on the night will cross genres with our residents having played at plethora of places and spaces and bring all their diverse influences under one roof. From hip-hop to house expect quality across the dance spectrum.

Come with your dancing shoes and social hat… Drink, dance and delight in this thing we call music…
