Soulful Music

Sy Sez feat. Phoenix Pearle “Send Me High”

R2D5

Sy Sez has been steadily building his reputation as a DJ, producer and radio presenter on the soul and house scene for the last few years.

“Send Me High” sees Sy step back from the four to the floor house style to provide a delicious mid-tempo soul burner featuring Phoenix Pearle on vocals and hotly tipped newcomer Henry Wu on keys. The result is modern UK soul at it’s best.

Sy’s Dub strips away the vocal and let’s Henry loose on the keys for the full dubbed out London vibe.

If that wasn’t enough, Karizma slips into his Kaytronik mode on the Hydro Mix to provide a full electronic workout, complete with signature rugged beats and funked-up groove that will burn a hole in any dance-floor. The Hydromental Mix is also included for those that want to keep riding that groove.

Finally, we also include the Original Demo mix – highlighting the song’s original dub-soul-house feeling to complete the package.

Available from 13th October 2014 on all good digital platforms.

• Larry Young’s Fuel re-issue

The third release in the re-issue series is Larry Young’s Fuel. Larry Young was part of the earliest fusion experiments in the late 60’s/early 70’s, playing on Miles Davis’ “Bitches Brew”, recording with Jimi Hendrix and being part of Tony Williams’ groundbreaking “Lifetime” project.

Larry Young’s Fuel” is one of THE essential electric jazz sets of the 70s – and features the classic break cut “Turn Out the Lights” – plus other great tracks. The follow up album “Spaceball” in 1976 takes the fusion of funk, rock, soul, and jazz to new heights.

Both albums became highly collectable “rare grooves” among the UK funk, soul and jazz fans. This package brings both albums together for the first time. Both albums have been digitally re-mastered from the original tapes. Release date: May 15th. Check the whole series here…
